Sequoia National Park
Sequoia National Park is one of the most remarkable natural destinations in the United States, and for groups based in Porterville, it's practically in the backyard — less than 45 miles northeast via CA-198. The park is home to the General Sherman Tree, the largest living tree on Earth by volume at 52,500 cubic feet, located in the Giant Forest. Groups can explore the Giant Forest Museum, hike Moro Rock for panoramic views of the Great Western Divide, and walk through Tunnel Log, a fallen sequoia with a road cut through its base.
Visit the Sequoia National Park visitor information page for current hours and road conditions before your trip. Note that the park publishes vehicle-length advisories on portions of the Generals Highway — confirm your vehicle dimensions with your operator in advance.
